The Emirati Talent Paradox
Employers say they cannot find work-ready Emiratis, and Emiratis say they cannot get experience without a job.
Both are telling the truth. The shortage is not of talent — it is that nothing reliably joins the two together.
Who this is for
Whichever side of that you are standing on, this was built with you in mind.
- You are early in your careerand need a way to show what you can do.→
- You are hiringand the candidates reaching you do not look ready.→
- You teachand are measured on outcomes you do not fully control.→
- You shape policy or fund itand want to know what actually works.→
- You have done the workand would like to help someone else through it.→
What we do
We connect the parts that already exist, rather than adding another one.
The UAE does not lack programmes, universities, or employers willing to hire. What it lacks is a path that holds from a person's first sense of direction to their third year in a career. Building and holding that path is the whole of our work.
How it works
Capability, real work, guidance, and a community that outlasts the placement.
Maydan is where employers and universities put in the real problems, at no cost. Fursan Academy builds capability against them over twenty-four weeks; Fursan Al Thakaa proves it in eight, through a competition judged by industry. Murshid puts experienced people alongside those coming up. Majlis keeps everyone connected once they are placed.
Where things stand
More Emiratis are working in the private sector than ever before.
That is real progress, and it is what changes the question. The next one is not how many were hired, but how many are still there in a year, doing work that is going somewhere.
How we handle numbers
Every figure here carries its source and the date it was published, and is reviewed quarterly because the rules change. Where we do not yet have evidence, we say so rather than estimating.

The ones that come up most
- What does Tawasul mean?
- Connection. It is a fair description of the job.
- Are you a recruitment agency?
- No. Agencies are paid when someone is placed. We are judged on whether they are still there a year later.
- Are you a training provider?
- Training is part of it, but training that ends at a certificate is the thing we were built to fix.
- How is this different from Nafis?
- Nafis sets national policy and incentives. We are the delivery layer that turns those into readiness and evidence. We point people to Nafis where it is the better route.
- Who is it for?
- Emirati talent, employers, universities, mentors, and the people funding or governing national talent policy.
- Does it cost anything to enquire?
- No, and enquiring commits you to nothing.
- Do you guarantee placements?
- No. We would not trust anyone who did.
- Where are you based?
- Dubai, working across the Emirates.
- Can I see your results?
- What exists is published, along with what does not yet. The measurement framework is public before the numbers are.
- What is the first step?
- A conversation. Nothing more is asked of you at this stage.
