Most programmes stop at the placement, because that is the moment easiest to count. Performance, retention and progression all happen afterwards.
Who this is for
This is for everyone who has come through Fursan Academy or Fursan Al Thakaa.
You may be three weeks into a first role or three years into a career. Either way the useful thing is the same: people slightly ahead of you who remember the bit you are in, and people slightly behind who would benefit from what you have just learned.
What it costs
Membership is free, and some of what you can do with it is not.
Free: membership itself, for as long as you want it. The community, the people in it, opportunities as they arise, and a standing invitation to return as a mentor. None of that is time-limited, and none of it becomes a bill.
Paid: structured mentoring, and continued professional development and credentials. Those take practitioner time to run properly, so they are charged. The packages are still being set, and they will be published in dirhams once they are.
Why it matters
The Majlis is also how the whole system learns.
An alumni community is usually framed as a benefit for members, and it is one. It is also the only mechanism by which anyone can find out what actually builds a successful Emirati career, including which pathways led somewhere, which employers kept people, and what mattered and when. That is held with consent, and you can see and correct what is held about you.
Over time
Here is how membership works over time.
- You join on completion. Automatically, whichever programme you came through.
- You settle into the role. With people a year ahead who remember exactly what you are dealing with.
- You keep learning. Credentials and sessions that continue after the programme ends.
- You use the network. For a move, a question, or a door you cannot open alone.
- You give some back. Mentoring newer Fursan, when you are ready and not before.
- You help the system learn. With your consent, we follow how careers actually develop, because nobody currently holds that picture.
Questions you might have
About membership
- Do I have to do anything to join?
- No. Completing Fursan Academy or Fursan Al Thakaa makes you a member.
- What if I did not get placed?
- You are still a member. Placement is not the entry requirement, and the community is arguably more useful if you are still looking.
- What if I leave the country, or change sector entirely?
- Membership does not lapse. Careers move, and a network that only works while you stay put is not much of a network.
- How much time does it expect from me?
- None. Members use it when they need it, and some go quiet for a year and come back.
- Am I expected to mentor?
- Not required, and not immediately. When you are ready, Murshid is how it is done properly, and mentors are recognised for the time they put in.
- What do employers see?
- Only what you agree to share. Employers get access to a community, not to your file.
- What career tracking do you do?
- With your consent, we follow progression over time, covering role, responsibility and movement, and you can see it, correct it, or withdraw.
- Why do you want that data?
- Because nobody currently knows what makes an Emirati private-sector career work. Without it we are guessing, and so is everyone else.
- Does it cost anything?
- Membership does not, and will not. Structured mentoring and continued professional development are chargeable services on top of it. The packages are still being set, and they will be published in dirhams once they are.
- Can I bring someone in who did not come through a programme?
- Not into membership, but you can point them at the way in. Most members do.

Membership begins the day you finish.
There is nothing to apply for. If you have come through a programme, the Majlis is already yours.
