What we publish, and why we publish it
We would rather argue in public with a stated methodology than assert in private. Everything here carries a version, a date and a claims policy.

Editorial standard
How to read anything we publish
Official policy and workforce figures are dated and linked to their source. Claims about candidate or employer behaviour are not quantified before our own research supports them — until then we describe the pattern rather than inventing a percentage.
Where a document is a discussion draft, it says so on its cover. Where a measure has a definition, that definition is published before the measure has a value. And where we withdraw a claim, we say what it was and what would bring it back.

Commission research, or challenge ours
Independent evaluation is something we want rather than tolerate. If you can test one of our claims properly, we are interested.
